Vusi Khanyile has been the only director of Afrikan Farms since the start of operations. In 2014, he was joined by Sbongeleni Mathenjwa, Mrs Silindile Kubheka and Ms Ndoni Khanyile, who is an alternate director.
Mr Mathenjwa is a graduate of the Owen Sithole Agricultural College with extensive experience in the farming field. He joined Afrikan Farms (Pty) Ltd in 2004 and became Farm Manager in 2007.Upon the establishment of WeGrow Farming Enterprise in 2013, an associate company of Afrikan Farms, he was transferred to assist in the initial stages of the business. Upon his return in 2014, he was appointed as a Director of Afrikan Farms and the Feedlot Department manager.
“Board member since 2014, Silindile is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years working experience (over 10 years in management) that was mainly achieved from working in the Auditing, Risk and Accounting/Finance environments. She has worked in both private and public sectors.”
An alternate Director to Silindile Kubheka. She is a writer, actor, television presenter and producer, and has a Masters Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia University, New York.
Phakade Khanyile joined Afrikan Farms in 2013 in the capacity of General Manager (GM). Previously he worked in the meat industry in Newcastle, KZN. In addition to his role as GM, Phakade Is the Manager of the Sheep Department.
Nsika Shabalala joined Afrikan Farms upon graduating from Cedara College of Agriculture in 2010. He joined the company in the capacity of Assistant Manager: Cattle Farming Department. In 2012, he assumed the full responsibility of Manager: Cattle Farming Department, for which he is currently responsible and accountable.
After pilot training in the South African Air Force, Thinus obtained a B.com (marketing) degree at the University of Pretoria. Operated as a commercial farmer for 32 years on his own farm, specializing in maize, soya beans, and apple production. Also farming with beef cattle and Merino sheep. Joining African farms in 2016, he became the Manager of the Technical Department.
Kholiwe Nkambule previously worked in the banking industry as an Operations officer then moved to be part of the Brand and Marketing team at Kwenta Media. Kholiwe joined Afrikan Farms in 2017 in the capacity of Sales and Marketing Officer.
Siphiwe is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He was Senior Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Afrikan Farms (Pty) Ltd as Chief Operations Officer. He has extensive experience in the finance field and has been exposed, through his audit function to various industries such as Construction, Investments, Food Producers and Forestry & Manufacturing.
